Sam Roberson
Sam was born in Flatwoods, Kentucky and raised in south Atlanta in a faithful Christian home. With a pastor as a father, he was introduced to Jesus from a young age.

Sam came to personally trust in God as a child after recognizing his need for the grace of Christ. Through conversations with his parents, he was guided in understanding what it meant to be a sinner and to be reconciled to God, and he began developing a love for Scripture and a desire to follow Jesus through every season.
Sam attended North Greenville University in South Carolina to play soccer and initially pursued a career in physical therapy. During his time there, it became clear that his gifting and calling were leading him in a different direction, and the Lord invited him to take a step of faith and pursue a degree in ministry. In that season, God introduced him to a local church community where he was mentored and began to recognize a growing love for connecting people to Jesus and helping them grow in their spiritual formation.
Before joining Reality, Sam spent time working in the non-profit sector before transitioning into full-time ministry. He and his wife Ella felt a clear calling to serve in a new region of the country—particularly somewhere they could build relationships with those who do not yet know Jesus, which they are both passionate about. After months of prayer and connecting with churches across the U.S., they clearly sensed the Lord’s leading and quickly fell in love with San Francisco upon their first visit.
At Reality, Sam spends his time helping people find belonging and connect with opportunities to be spiritually formed. He also focuses on creating spaces for newcomers to assimilate into the life of the church, strengthening points of connection, and helping individuals take their next step of faith.
Outside of ministry, Sam enjoys playing drums, spending time outdoors—especially in national parks—and discovering new coffee shops.
